ICBC Counselling
Being in a car accident can be scary and traumatizing. Whether you were the driver or a passenger, the experience can affect you physically, emotionally, and psychologically.
As an ICBC-approved counsellor, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating the impacts of motor vehicle accidents. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and supportive space where you can begin to process trauma, manage pain, reduce anxiety, and rebuild your sense of safety and well-being.
Here’s how it works:
If you have an open ICBC claim and inform your ICBC agent that you are experiencing physical, emotional, or psychological injuries, you will receive a claim number specifically for counselling. With this number, you are eligible for 12 pre-approved counselling sessions within the first 12 weeks after your accident. These sessions, each costing $157, are covered by ICBC and can be used with any ICBC-approved counsellor (like me) with direct billing. You will be given a deadline by which the 12 sessions must be completed.
If you require additional sessions beyond these 12, your counsellor can advocate on your behalf to request more sessions through ICBC. There is no need for a doctor’s note to access these counselling sessions, and the at-fault party does not affect your eligibility. During the first session, the initial report is conducted by the counsellor after that, each session is like any other 50-minute counselling session.
I work collaboratively with clients to address common post-accident challenges such as PTSD, chronic pain, depression, driving anxiety, sleep disturbances, and stress. If other issues arise during our sessions that are unrelated to the accident, that’s okay. Life is a series of connecting the dots as experiences occur, and I encourage all clients to explore all thoughts and emotions as part of their healing journey. I’m here for support every step of the way.
